About

Welcome!

I’m David Thresher, chief editor here at camplonger.com. As a native of the Pacific Northwest, I’ve spent my life figuring out how to best stay dry, warm, and well-fed while enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it’s a camping trip in late June or a ski trip in February, the weather is at times, unpredictable. I know from experience that you always need to be prepared when you spend time with Mother Nature. That’s what we’re here for, to get you ready for adventure.

My team and I have spent our lives outdoors and we want to share what we’ve learned with you. Because there are some things that you don’t want to learn firsthand if given the choice. Truthfully, being unprepared is not only a time-suck, but it could also be dangerous. Imagine getting lost on a backpacking trip and running out of supplies. Scary thought. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Here at Camp Longer, we’re dedicated to keeping you informed. From reviews of the most up to date, high tech gear, to weather information and where to purchase permits. We want to be your source of information about outdoor life for all seasons. We’re also here to answer the questions that you may not have thought of yet. Like, do I need to waterproof my tent? And, what’s the best method? Is there a best time to go backpacking in any given area? The short answer is, yes. What is the best time? Can you extend that trip with specialized equipment, so you can camp longer? These are some of the questions that we’ll answer, and much more.

We always welcome your questions and suggestions, whether that’s in a comment on one of our posts or a private message to our team. Please feel free to contact us anytime!
